Mindfulnessinaction’s Blog
An interactive Mindfulness Meditation blogA Prayer of Loving Kindness
If possible I would remove the sorrows that all living beings experience. If possible, I would transfer every wholesome merit I have ever gained if it could replace the bad karma beings may have accumulated from their thoughts and actions.
But seeing that we are all owners of our actions, heirs to our actions; I cannot intercede nor absorb neither replace the consequences that result from any action good or bad done by any being.
Thus, I am determined to cultivate a mind of boundless compassion toward all living beings. I can develop a mind that wishes no harm toward any living being, a mind that is harmless, and a mind that is kind and gentle. I can develop a mind that understands beings for what they are and is patient and understanding in all circumstances. I can develop a mind that rejoices when good things happen to friends or enemies. I can develop a mind that is stable; a mind that is not disturbed regardless of what happens in my experience.
When I develop this mind I will be a blessing to all those I encounter and hopefully bring them happiness even if for one moment.
May all beings, regardless of any difference there may be between us, be well happy and peaceful! May only the best things that can happen, happen to them; this shall be my intention, my cultivation and my action.
